In 1983 or 1984, Gloria entered a drawing for a free trip to Gurney’s Inn at Montauk Point. She won, and invited me to go along as her guest. The trip was memorable for several reasons. First of all, I wrote this song during our stay. Secondly, we were picked up by a full size stretch limo, complete with mobile phone. At the time, this was a big deal, at least to us. We called our friend John Ohara while en route. It was terribly exciting. To top it all off, while swimming in the huge indoor Gurney’s Inn saltwater pool, I was asked to surrender my swimming lane to Bianca Jagger, who needed to swim as part of her recovery from a recent accident. So, I moved over to the next lane and continued to swim alongside Bianca (more or less). We didn’t speak.

The title of this song is the name of the town in Massachusetts where Gloria and I first lived right after we were married.
