St. Elmo's Fire

This player contains some songs I recorded at Shaggy Dog Studios in Stockbridge Massachusetts in 1974.  Our band was called St. Elmo's Fire.  One of our featured singers and lead guitarist at the time was a guy named Buddy Miller.  Buddy is a much sought after Nashville producer these days.  Also featured is the dearly departed Christopher T. Hartshorne (a.k.a. C.T. Tucker) composer of the the beautiful "A Friend in You", "Autumn Carol", "Schooley's Mountain Waltz", and numerous other tunes we did in those days.  Chris and I co-wrote “Ozark Madness.”

Many of the qualities of the music we were making in St. Elmo's Fire have stayed with me ever since.  Most of my own compositions came after this period, but many of them are tightly connected to the spirit of that band, and would have fit right in to our repertoire at the time.  I have included a few of my later songs here to illustrate this point.
